    Hi,

    I just noticed that the German gaming magazine GamePro is doing a XBLIG video review series called IndieWatch which appears on the German Xbox dashboard. The article that announces this can be found here (in German):

    It's supposed to be a bi-weekly feature, and the one that is currently online on the dashboard is titled "Folge 1" (=Episode 1), so hopefully there will indeed be more episodes.

    This first episode shows 4 XBLIGs (all reviewed positively):
    • Platformance: Castle Pain
    • Arkedo: Pixel
    • Your Doodles Are Bugged! (Yay! :-)
    • Obesity Epidemic

    There's also a short intro showing snippets of other XBLIGs (could be that this intro will stay the same throughout the series, but I can't really know, since this is the first episode). The intro shows Shoot 1UP, YDAB!, Arkedo: Pixel, Arkedo: Swap, Arkedo: Jump and a top-down 2D space shooter which I don't recognize.

    So there - at least some XBLIG dashboard exposure (in one region) - let's just hope that this IndieWatch will live longer than IndieCharles (or however he was called) in the UK...

    Wow, that's pretty awesome.

    I started to read through it (I can read/speak German), then I realized Chrome can automatically translate it all for you. Doh!

    Hell, if I knew that MS would do that when I start putting together quality video reviews (in the next few weeks!) I would really put some effort into trying to publicize it. I think it benefits all parties involved. Developers get more sales through publicity, Microsoft gets more royalties through sales, and Armless Octopus would receive more publicity. 

    What's not to like? I wonder who approached who with this deal, and how it occurred. Do you think MS would be open to the idea in the North American market?

    although "Decimation X" was misspelled and mispronounced as "Decimination X" (but at least consequently, throughout the whole clip :-).

    Generally, I like these short Indie Watch clips: So far, they only picked games they liked, so they always reviewed them positively and recommended them. And IMO the commentator has a good balance between funny and still giving some helpful info (insofar as this is possible in such a short clip).
