Hello,
We have received great feedback on Todd Brix’s recent blogpost, Taking a Tougher Stance on Bulk App Publishing. The blogpost outlines an update to the bulk publishing guidelines that no more than 10 apps will be published per day. We have made this adjustment to ensure that Windows Phone Marketplace customers have a great experience and increase discoverability for your apps. This is a win for both the customer and you as a developer.
However, there will continue to be some instances where there is a legitimate business reason to make an exception to this policy. In order to support your unique business needs and timelines, you may submit a request to be considered for an exception, on a case by case basis. The following outlines the criteria and steps to be taken.
Qualifications
- Intend to publish more than 10 apps on the same day
- Apps must be unique and differentiated from one another
- Apps meet the Application Certification Requirements for Windows Phone
Exception Request Process
- Submit an e-mail request to mktpolcy@microsoft.com with the following:
§ Full list of the apps to be published- app name, representative descriptions and screenshots must be included
§ The business justification
§ The timeframe in which you are targeting to have the apps published
We will evaluate requests and will reply within 5 business days. If your request is accepted, we will work together to determine the best day and time to publish the applications (please note typical Certification times will apply).
We appreciate your enthusiasm for developing for Windows Phone so we hope that this exception process enables you to continue being productive and provides some flexibility to meet your business needs. We thank you for your feedback and your partnership!
Thanks
Jo
